The Expert Panel of the Icelandic Performing Arts Centre has completed the allocation of travel grants for January 2025. The purpose of these grants is to support performing artists in presenting their work in new venues, strengthening networks, and creating further opportunities for Icelandic performing arts.
In this round, 7 projects received funding, with a total allocation of ISK 1,325,000. The selected projects will be performed and presented in Iceland, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland.
Travel Grants for Touring to Euorpe
📌 Lovísa Ósk Gunnarsdóttir – Performance of When the Bleeding Stops at the Nordic Arts Festival at the Nordic House in the Faroe Islands (ISK 375,000).
📌 Anna Kolfinna Kuran – Performance of Takeover (Yfirtaka) at Suialaa Arts Festival in Nuuk, Greenland (ISK 75,000).
📌 Matthías Tryggvi Gunnarsson – Travel to Denmark to follow up on the premiere of his play Fristed (Griðarstaður) in Holbæk and introduce other works to Danish theatres (ISK 75,000).
Travel Grants for Touring within Iceland
For the first time, special travel grants have been awarded for national touring projects, and we hope this initiative will contribute to the broader dissemination of performing arts across Iceland while creating more opportunities for artists and audiences alike.
📌 Sviðslistahópurinn Alltaf í boltanum – Performance of The Unbearable Lightness of Football (Óbærilegur léttleiki knattspyrnunnar) at Samkomuhúsið in Akureyri (ISK 300,000).
📌 Leikhópurinn Lotta – Touring performances of Robin Hood (Hrói Höttur) across Iceland during summer 2025 (ISK 250,000).
📌 Komedíuleikhúsið – Performance of Ariasman at Tjarnarbíó in February 2025 (ISK 150,000).
📌 Aude Busson – Performance of Hominal (Manndýr) at the Children’s Culture Festival in Akureyri in April 2025 (ISK 100,000).
